Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms
Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, producing strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Impact
Locals witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around 1,000 residents in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams responded to over five hundred requests for assistance across the state, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham - over 175 emergency requests
During the peak on Sunday, more than 28,000 power users in the state were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both regions.
Medical Alert
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after past events where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
